Who Said Chain-Letters Are Dead?
I'd like to think that most of us who were born in the previous millennium remember snail-mail chain letters. You get one in the mail and it goes something like this:
Dear friend,
Please make 500 copies of this letter, putting your name at the top of the list and taking the last name off the list. Then mail out the letter to your 500 closest friends, or buy a mailing list from MyCompanyMailingLists for ridiculous amounts of money. Then send $1 to each person on the original list you received, with a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) and a note requesting to be put on their mailing list. They will then send you a copy of the newsletter. DON'T THROW IT AWAY! You can use it to make copies for yourself to send out later.
Now, how does this work? You send out to 500 people and only 5 decide to follow thru. You get $5 and mail out 5 letters. They bump your name down the list mail out 500 of letter 1 and get back 5 each. Rinse and repeat. And so you get
Mail out 500, get 1% back, tier 1=$5
5 people mail out 5x500 and get back 5 each = $25
Those 25 get back 5 each = $125
125x5 more = $625
625x5 more = $3,125
3,125x5=$15,625
15,625x5=$78,125
Grand total back to you: $97,655
Now, what does any of that have to do with working at home? A concept that is new to me called Viral Marketing. It works in the same manner, bumping people down a list with your name on the top and drives traffic to your site. It's a form of traffic exchange, in exchange for passing around your referral link, you and everyone on the list gets traffic, and then everyone who signs up after you also gets traffic.
One site I've tried out is http://vtrafficrush.com/?rush=amccordford vTrafficRush has a free option, an upgrade option, plus a grid game where you can win a tiny amount of cash, if you're lucky. There's just these few bells and whistles, plus they have a few premade banners and ads you can use.
Another site that is also free is http://www.fwebtraffic.com/?rid=1346505 The 6 Links gives you a text ad and a link to your site of choice, which you can easily change. Plain, simple, and straight forward, with a selection of banners and email ads for you.
One more site, which I have not signed up for yet, harkens back even more to the chain-letters of "old". http://www.dollarsflip.com DollarsFlip is still brand-spanking-new and you can get your place at the very top for minimal pay out right now. In this case, you would also pay $5 for each person already on the list. Then, as you and your downline advertise the site, that $5 per referral comes straight back to you.
Well, I hope I've given you a little insight into the things I've been learning about. There is tons of information out there about marketing anything and everything to anyone and everyone. Stay tuned to read more about what I learn as I go thru this adventure of learning how to work from home and make money.
